I have missed all of you!  What have I been up to?  I will tell you what I have been up too....in photos!  A big surprise at the end!

Off the market!!

I have been busier then ever and wanted to fill you in on what's been going on with me! As you know we listed our house for sale last Wednesday......by Sunday it was off the market....and no we didn't have a buyer...we changed our minds! Something just didn't seem right and after much thought we decided that if we aren't 100% sure then we aren't going to go through with it! And now that we did change our minds we are so glad we did! It is such a relief and now we know that it was the right decision!
We are getting new carpet on the 17th which will make the house look new and give it a nice lift that it needs. That is the only home improvement that needed to be done since we already got new countertops, new tile in the kitchen, all new lights and we repainted so I think after the new carpet is in, it will all be complete and we can sit tight for a couple of years!!

On Saturday we helped Venti move to Maryland. He has been commuting everyday for his job since January and traveling 170 miles everyday!! Talk about a long day! And then his wife Mocha also got a job down there and she has been traveling as well and they didn't always work the same shift so both had to drive! They will probably be there for about 2 years and then hopefully he can transfer back home. I'm just happy that they aren't commuting everyday as that was worrisome.

My Dad just had heart surgery and had to have a defibrillator put in. His heart was only working at 25%. The surgery went well and he is already feeling better. I'm sure you will remember when he fell last year and he has had problems ever since. It still upsets me and I think about it every day.

Grande and Tall will be home for the Summer on Friday.....let the fun begin! Yikes! Joe, Short and I are so used to it being just the 3 of us and now I'm going to have to cook again! And buy more groceries....and do more laundry....and clean more......ahhhh but it will be nice to have them home!!

My job is going okay. I am tolerating it now....ha! The lady that started a week before me walked out last Friday. It is a relief that she is gone. She was a bit psycho and you never knew what she was going to do next. My old boss is still emailing me to come back which I have been thinking about but it is so laid back where I work now and free parking so I am going to have to give that a lot of thought!!

My birthday is Friday and while in the past I have not been a fan of birthdays at all, I am now realizing that I should be happy to celebrate each one that I am given and that's exactly what I'm going to do!

July 4th and Grande's Birthday

I couldn't post pictures of our July 4th picnic and Grande's birthday before today because Monday was Meet Me On Monday and Tuesday is Tuesday Beauty Tips!

Sunday was our picnic that is always held at my parents house (next door) because they have to pool which was much needed on Sunday because it was 98 degrees!   We also celebrated Grande's birthday at the picnic so it was one big party!  There were 35 people there...lots of food and lots of fun!

Everyone wanted dessert!!

There was a little incident with the fireworks!  My sister and her husband brought a whole box of them and he usually sets them of but this time my sister did them and the very last one fell over and we were all sitting or standing around watching them and I happened to be one sitting and when I saw that it started shooting outwards instead of upwards I got up and turned around to get out of the way and right then part of it hit me in the back of my thigh!  Ouch!  It really stung and now I have a bruise but its way better then one of the kids getting hurt or anyone getting seriously hurt!  Not a good ending to a fun day!

Happy Birthday Grande!!

Today is Grande's 20th birthday! I remember watching the fireworks from the hospital room! Its so hard to believe that my little 5 lb baby is 20!

We will be celebrating his birthday tomorrow at my parent's July4th picnic.  Tonight Joe and I have "date night" which is so important in a marriage!   We are going to a restaurant with a deck overlooking the river with another couple that we've been wanting to go out with for awhile now!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my birthday....I'm not a fan of birthdays...anything after 40 seems scary!  And I am now 5 years beyond that!
But YES...life does begin after 40!
That is exactly why I'm Never Growing Old!!

Four 10 year olds

Shorts birthday was yesterday and he wanted to take 3 friends for pizza and a movie.  How hard can that be?  Piece of cake!   The Mom's dropped the boys off at our house at 1:30pm.  We get to the pizza place, place our order and sit down.

Then the fun began.

Self serve sodas apparently means taking your cup down the line of selections so you can sample some of each in ONE cup.

Putting garlic, peppers and cheese on your pizza until you can't see what the pizza looked like to begin with...and then asking for another slice because you don't like it (not!).

Using your one finger to eat your pizza....that consists of poking your finger into your pizza and swooshing it around...getting as much sauce and cheese on your finger and then eating it.

Wooden chairs are apparently the best playing field for farts.

                    Can't your just see the mischief on their faces?

Short was not doing any of these (honestly he wasn't). My boys know to behave!

After an hour of torture, we get in the car to drive to the movie theater.

Short wanted to see, "Diary of a Whimpy Kid."

We got their early.  Like 40 minutes early.  The other movie hadn't even left out yet.
We had to entertain them by taking pictures of them with Shrek.

Since we were so early, we got first choice of seats.

So we choose the very back row.

Hardly anyone came if after us.

Yes!!  No one in front of us!

The movie was just starting and in walks a group of 4.

And they chose the row right in front of us.

Why??  There were 100 other seats!!

Apparently the boys were less then thrilled about this.

And apparently these people didn't like when the boys laughed, or chewed or took a drink or opened a wrapper.

They told them to be quite several times.  I didn't know until after the movie because we left a seat in between us and the boys and didn't realize everything that was going on.  We were only 1 seat away from the boys and I didn't see or hear anything out of the ordinary from the boys!

So why would you come in at the start of a movie and sit directly in front of someone else when you have the entire theatre to pick from and then get annoyed when four 10 year olds in back of you laugh?

After the movies the boys told us all about this on the way home.  Had I wished I knew this because I would have said something to them!  I'm sure we all have a movie theater story to share (feel free to tell).

The movie was funny...they really enjoyed it...minus the discruntle people in front of them!

Happy Birthday Short!  You are no longer in the single digits!  My baby is 10!!  Sigh....

Off to the movies and pizza with 3 friends! I hope you have the best day ever!

Happy Birthday Venti!!

It is so hard for me to comprehend that my little boy is 22 today!  Where did the time go?  It went by in a flash.  If you have little one's enjoy every single day.  Don't rush the milestones like sitting up, talking, walking, etc. because before you know it they suddenly become the age you were when you gave birth to them!  Its so hard to believe.  I get a lump in my throat thinking about it.

I found this poem on the internet and thought I would share it with you as this describes how I feel:

You were six months old and full of fun
With a blink of an eye you were suddenly one.
There were so many things we were going to do,
But I turn my head and you were two.

At two you were still dependent on me,
But independence took over when you were three.
Your third birthday, another year I wished to ignore,
But as I lit the candles there weren't three but four.

Four was the year that you really strived,
Why, look at you now, you're already five.
Now you're ready for books and rules,
This is the year that you go to school.

The big day came you were anxious to go.
We walked to the bus, going oh so slow.
