It's Over!

Im eating carbs!! Joe and I tried the no carb diet for two miserable days and neither of us lost anything so yesterday I decided to try a low fat diet to see if that works and I lost 1 & 1/2 lbs in one day! I'm going to try that for a couple of days to see what happens!!

Joe picked up Tall yesterday from college and now my house looks like a bomb went off with all his stuff! I didn't realize he had taken that much to school!! I have DAYS worth of laundry to do (luckily for me I LOVE to do laundry!) and he conveniently threw the clean in with the dirty so I have to wash everything which is probably a good idea since who knows where it was laying at school!!
Grande comes home tomorrow so I'll start all over again!! :)

Happy Thursday and I'll see you tonight for Follow Friday 40 and Over!!

  1. It's always great when the kids come home from college. Too bad, my baby graduated from college last year so no more big homecomings like that:(

  2. Have u tried eating Mediterranean? fish, whole grains, veggies, lamb/poultry? Years ago I knew someone who ate in that manner.. I picked it up and even tho I didn't need to lose weight, I did... My daughter lived in Italy and adopted that style of eating... also I eat little dairy... she eliminated all dairy because she found she was lactose intollerant... that discovery came after coming home from Italy... and as u know Italians do not eat the large amts. of pasta the way Americans do.. I too have lost my desire to eat pasta.. If I do, the amount is minimal.. Believe me, you do need carbs, but don't eliminate it all... Elimination of red meat is a plus...

  4. Java, I second Kalei on the Mediterranean diet. It does not feel like a diet, because it's not. It's a lifestyle change. A program that is very similar to if not exact is The South Beach Diet, complete with recipes. But I will let you in on a little secret, if you are not big on following a plan or want something that is very simple that you don't have to give much thought and preparation to or that feels too restricting or overwhelming, if you will just look up the glycemic index on Google and eat foods that are low on the glycemic scale and try to stay away from foods high on the list, the pounds should drop. I just recently dropped seven pounds in one week two weeks ago without exercise just by eating low glycemic foods. But remember, anything you do to lose weight, as soon as you stop doing it, the weight will return. So I suggest that any changes you make are ones that you can permanently stick with. I am trying to permanently stay away from high glycemic foods to keep the weight off. Let us know if you try it and it works.

    1. Eating whole grains, e.g. quinoa, brown rice, seems to fill you up also its better for you than white grains..the fiber content is higher which helps.
