Heading off to work today. Why am I dreading it? I'm fine when I'm there but the thought of going vs. staying home are huge! I've noticed I've become such a homebody in the last year or so...why is that? It certainly can't be because I'm getting old!! I don't do that! Well then what is it? I don't dislike my job...I just want to be home! Does anyone else feel this way? I'd much rather be doing this:

The Weekend...

What a busy weekend we had. Venti was home but was hardly "home"...I didn't even cook once the whole weekend because he wasn't here! He spent most of the weekend at Mocha's house...mainly because of Latte. He found out that she has been going to a fertility specialist so that she can harvest her eggs and so she won't be starting chemo for another 2 weeks! He said that the doctor said that after she's had a couple of chemo treatments is when they will be able to tell more about the cancer. He said that they will make a decision then as to whether they decide to get married in October or wait until next year. I have mixed feeling about that! Joe and I did not want him rushing into marriage so soon after he graduates from College (in May)...we had many lengthy discussions with him about waiting. He was so adamant about it and so we finally decided to just accept it as it didn't seem to matter what WE wanted! After we got use to the idea and it all sunk in, we started to get excited about it. So now after all of that it may come down to them waiting after all!

So anyhow, back to the weekend. Joe had off which was so nice! His regular days off are Sunday & Monday and so he took off Friday and Saturday and we had a super nice longggggg weekend together! Friday we took Short to Friendly's for dinner and then we had tickets to see the Harlem Globetrotters! Short was born in 2000 and the Globetrotters gave every child that was born that year free tickets for life! The show was great and we had a wonderful time! Short got autographs and a basketball!!

Saturday and Sunday were spent re-doing 2 of our bathrooms!!! We got new counter tops 3 weeks ago and now they needed painted, new carpets, lights, drawer hardware, drapes, etc. We went from pink counter tops to this:

And from green counter tops to this:

Getting up and down the ladder and still feeling it 2 days later really makes me feel like I'm not 20 any more and I don't like that!! Or it tells me that I'm out of shape! Ugh I hate this age thing!

Magical Fairy

Venti came home today for the weekend. He was just home last weekend and brought 2 of his roommates! Boy was that interesting! My house is always full of boys, but boy oh boy..add 2 more to the mix! I sure hope that doesn't happen too often!

Venti is home again this weekend mostly because of Latte. I asked him last night about the wedding and he said that Mocha's Dad told them that he is probably giving Latte the money needed to harvest her eggs....the same money that was to be giving to Venti & Mocha for the Wedding. Venti say that they are most likely going to post-phone the wedding date. They will know more in the next couple of weeks.

I just feel so badly for Latte. I am hoping and praying that she can beat this! She is such a nice girl and has her whole life ahead of her.

Other happenings in our household are that Joe is feeling much better and isn't depressed any more! I am still trying to figure out what I want to do in life! I do not like the career that I am in now and feel like I am just wasting my life away..they years go by so quickly and I don't ever want to look back and regret that I didn't do something! I wish a magical fairy would help guide me to doing something that I love....I just wish I knew what that was!

Devestating news...

I am so sad right now. Mocha's (Venti's fiance's) sister, I'll call her Latte, who is 26 years young has cancer...non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. She was diagnosed about 3 years ago and has been in remission. It has return and the prognosis isn't good. They told her she only has a 40% chance of beating it. The intense chemo that she is going to get will leave her infertile. There is talk about harvesting her eggs...just in case...

How sad...her life is just beginning. Please say a prayer for Latte...I'll keep you posted.

Valentine's Day

It was a great Valentine's Day in my house! Joe got me 2 dozen red & white roses and a card that he wrote a whole page of beautiful things to me! It was so nice! Venti got me a bouquet of purple flowers, Grande got me red and white carnations and he was thoughtful enough to get his dad a box of chocolates!! Short asked Venti to get him a card at the store which I thought was very cute!!! And then there is Tall...nothing! Not even a homemade card...:(

Joe and I went out for lunch which was nice...and then he took me to dinner at a VERY nice restaurant! We BOTH had Lobster Tail! It was super yummy! We also split a piece of peanut butter pie!!!

It was a great day!! :)

Friend or Parent?

Why is it like pulling teeth to get my boys to do any chores? Probably because I've always just done it for them! Its our own fault. We've never enforced any rules or chores and now if we ask them to do something they act like we are asking for the world! Not all of them...Venti will do more then his share when he is home and Grande doesn't complain, but boy oh boy Tall is the one. As you know we got 2 snow storms here within 4 days. Last Thursday the plow finally made it to our neighborhood. Joe had already snow blowed our driveway and sidewalks and left for work. Once the plow did come through it left a pile of snow at the base of our STEEP driveway. I thought to myself, "I have 2 teenage boys here and I should not have to go out and shovel"...after all I did shovel after the first storm and fell UP the driveway and I still have a scab on my knee!!!

So I tell Grande and Tall to please go out and shovel the snow off the bottom of the driveway...what did I get? Well Tall went "hoodie" on me:

See what I mean? You can just see the look of hating life on his face! When they came in Grande said that Tall hardly shoveled and he did most of the work...The pictures tell all...

That's what I get...trying to be their friend instead of their parent! Does anyone else have this same issue in their house?

R.I.P. Girlfriend

My Dad was able to catch Girlfriend yesterday.

He took her to the Humane Society.

My Mom said she didn't make a sound the whole way there...

Rest in peace are no longer in pain.

I just realized that I don't even have a picture of her.

Thank goodness he caught of right now we are getting an additional 20 inches of snow on top of the other 18 inches we got on Friday.

Its a whiteout! Blizzard like condition....thanks to a Nor'easter!

This is what it looks like outside my window right now:

And to think just yesterday, it looked like this out:

Looks like we will be doing lots of this today:

When we woke up Saturday was to this:

We got 20 inches of snow here in PA...way too much for me. I am not a fan of winter...I dislike it very much! I do not like being cold and when its cold I think about all the animals outside and it makes me sad. We have an outdoor kitty that's been hanging around for about 8 years and I have tried to make it the best I can for her out there but I know she still must be cold. I purchased a dog house..put in the warmest fleece sweaters for her to curl up on...but for some reason she prefers heavy boxes that I got at Sam's Club. I think because it keeps the heat in better for her the the dog house....I microwave her water so its not frozen. I cannot pet her as she doesn't let us but she has gotten use to us enough that if we are sitting outside she will rub against our legs, but she will not let us touch her. She was obviously someone's cat because she is fixed as she's never had a litter of kittens. We have named her "Girlfriend" because all my cats are male and she is female and when she sits on top of her dog house (I have it against our house so that its not out in the elements) I call to our cats, "Girlfriend is here!"...and they come running. They rub their heads against the window and she returns the favor!

Well on Friday, Girlfriend didn't look so good...and I figured out why:

I know its hard to see, but that is a HUGE Raccoon in Girlfriends bed! And it looks l like she tried to tell him that was her bed and he must have bit her. Her back has a huge open sore and she is missing tons of fur around that area. She can hardly walk. Somehow she managed to walk next door to my Mom's house..right before the storm. My Mom also takes care of her and has a dog house as well for her. I saw her last night when we were at my Mom's to watch the Superbowl. She looks terrible. My Mom is upset about her, I'm upset..everyone at the party was upset. She was sitting outside on my Mom's 15 degree weather with her back looking the way it was...shivering...the day after a major snowstorm...on a Sunday.

My Dad is planning on trapping her today and taking her to the Humane Society.
She should not have to suffer like that.

I just hope he can catch her....

Poor Girlfriend...

My Own Personal Grocery Store

With 5 men in this house...and me, you can imagine the food we must go through.

This should give you an idea...

Shelf's 3 & 4 are "snacks only"...

We added this pantry after I could no longer see my counter tops and I couldn't shut the cupboards.

And what do I always hear in my house??

"We have nothing to eat!!!"

The Hair Down There...

This is a rarity! Its just me and the cats at home! I can hear things in the house that I didn't hear before! Joe, Grande & Tall are at work, Short is at his cousin's house and Venti is away at school! I can't believe I have the house to what did I do??

Spent 90% of the time on the computer.

Spent the other 10% plucking gray hairs out of my head!

I was supposed to get my hair highlighted yesterday but I re-scheduled for next Thursday so that I could go with Joe to the doctors. But boy do I need to get my hair done. I usually go every 7 weeks and that's pushing it so it will be over 8 weeks till I go.

That is how I can see every single gray hair...they just stand at attention...shouting out to me..."look've got alot of these"...I even found one in my eyebrow this morning! Ewwwww...and I'm not even to going to mention where else they are probably lurking but I don't know cause I make sure that it doesn't get to the point that I can see them.......!

Now you know how I am about age, but honestly this is not because I think it will make it look younger down there! We don't have to look down to determine that we are grown-ups! I realize that not everyone does this..some trim, some shave, some do nothing!

Omg...did I just talk about that?? Well you don't have to be 20 to landscape your va jay jay!

I mean seriously...when we reach a certain age should we stop grooming the kitty?

I do it...and I like it!
