So what's been going on in my little world? Well I did get that job that I told you about. I started February 6th. Can you not hear the enthusiasm in my voice? That's because there isn't any. As you know I work for the State and you can bid on varies jobs that are posted. I bid on a job with the State Police because it offered free parking (I was paying $155 month!) and it wasn't downtown. Well I left a job that I LOVED and went to a job that I HATE! I am so sad every day that I am there. Plus I sit...and sit...and sit...and I can't stand it. My butt hurts by 11am! I know you can find some humor in that but I am being serious! I at least got up and down in my other job...but no..not this one. Plus the people that I work with are very different then the people that I left. Not very friendly or helpful.....no one blesses me when I sneeze....and the work that I do is very boring! Sigh....so I should have left well enough alone...but I thought it was a good opportunity. It is very hard to get in there and they had to do an extensive background check and everything. My old boss emails me everyday begging me to come back!! I want to but going back almost seems like I failed at my new job if I go back...but I was happy there! I don't know what to do!! What are some of your thoughts?
The boys are all doing good. Venti got a promotion and him and Mocha will be moving to Maryland which is where he's been working but he's been commuting from here everyday and its a 2 hour drive! Maryland is the next closest location that he could get besides his hometown and he was hoping to get it and he did. Otherwise he would have had to move to either California, Florida or Wisconsin. He has to stay there a couple of years and then he can work in the office here. The Government is confusing! But he is very happy and they are going to look at houses this weekend. They have been living at her parents house so it will be great for them! Mocha applied for a job down there and got it so they are all set!
Grande and Tall are doing well at college. They come home every weekend so I can wash their clothes and buy them food....lol.....Short is doing well too. He has one more basketball tournament on March 3rd and then he will be done for the year.
Some other news is that we may be buying a new house! We just started looking and think we found one but we are still deciding. We are taking the boys on Saturday to see what they think. We have been in this house for 19 years and it will be very hard to go. Plus we live next door to my parents and the same neighborhood as my sisters. My parents are going to be very upset when they hear. We want to downsize and Joe is tired of mowing and shoveling. Our house is soon going to need all kinds of new things...roof...furnace...central air unit....so we are taking all that into consideration. I'll let you know!!
Well that's a quick run down on me and I promise to blog way more often! I love and appreciate you for sticking in there with me and waiting patiently for me to return! I am still redesigning my blog and those changes will be here soon!
Hope everyone is doing well! I love all your comments!!!
Hugs!!!
Great to see you back Java! Good luck with the new house!!
ReplyDeleteGo back to your other job if you can. Who cares if it looks like you failed; I bet they will just be glad you are back. Your happiness is what matters.
ReplyDeleteWelcome Back!! Best of luck on the house hunting.
ReplyDeleteAs for the new job, from one who has been there..life is too short to be unhappy at your workplace. So...if your heart tells you it isn't right for you...make the change back. Chalk it up to a lesson learned!!
Very happy that you are well and back to blogging :)
ReplyDeleteSorry the job is not what you expected. Its great that your old boss wants you back!! At least you have options. Dont look at it as failing. The fact is you tried and it may not have been the right fit.
Good luck with the new place and telling your folks!!
Going back to something that you know made you happy doesn't seem like failure to me at all! You tried, you are doing it, but why keep doing it? Welcome back here!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are back. Maybe you can do just one. But I do understand. I like to blog the way you do. I tried to have a schedule but that didn't work.
ReplyDeleteI have missed you so much Java! I am going to PA in May too if you are interested! I know you're not on the baby track but i am giving away a couple of baby items on my blog, the give away closes tonight and no one has entered because all of my blog readers are brides! lol
ReplyDeleteAll of the kids look great and hos is it that Mocha always looks so cute?! I want to look like that! And hey, we missed an update on Dudley!
Oh, here's the link to the give away Java: http://www.eheizerphotography.blogspot.com/2012/02/baby-rays-birth-film-c-section-video.html
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of the family. Hey, you deserve a hiatus. You did an excellent job & as you say they are demanding & I'll still stop by & read your Posts & leave a comment or two. I'm sorry to hear about your sit down job. Lord knows I know what that's like. Get your self a little bench for under your desk so your feet don't swell & walk around whenever you can. Have a great weekend. Nice to hear from you.
ReplyDeleteGlad your back!
ReplyDeleteYou didn't fail, you tried! Go back to the other job if you can...You need to be happy at what your doing.
Nice to hear from you again. I agree, a personal blog should be a joy, not a chore.
ReplyDeleteGo back to your old job if you can. It's not a failure. Consider it a learning experience :-)
Good luck with the house, whatever you decide to do.
Welcome back! You were most def. missed!
ReplyDeleteRE: The new job. - Living with cancer, I say go back to the job that you were happy with. Life is def. too short. If you have a choice, choose happy! :)
I have missed seeing posts from you so much. I am glad to see you back!
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts on the job situation, go back to the old one! Life's too short to stay at a job you hate. It won't be a failure on your part at all. The failure would be staying at a job you don't like and being unhappy, not in going back to a job that you loved and where they want you and are kind to you. How could going back to a place like that possibly be a failure? It is a realization, not a failure. You remember that, OK?
You're in my prayers!
Welcome back Java, it's good to see you and catch up.
ReplyDeletePity the new job didn't work out; for what it's worth, I think there's no shame in going back, especially as your old boss wants you so much. i did that, and appreciated my old job so much once I got back there. And my colleagues were lovely about my coming back!
Whatever you decide, good luck with it.
Since you asked, I say GO BACK TO THE JOB YOU LOVE and don't even think twice about it! Your old boss wants you back, and you hate your new job so what are you waiting for. Life is too short to be stuck in a job you hate. It will make you sick or at the very least, irritable all the time. Get out while you can!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat to catch up on your life!!! And the lives of your loves!! I gave you an award over on my blog--no worries if you don't do awards. It is all for fun!!!

Life is stressful enough, I say go back to your old position. I hate working in a place where I don't feel wanted or appreciated.
ReplyDeletePS the boys look great!
Don't be miserable in a job you don't like. It sounds like your old boss wants you to come back, so you know you'll be welcome! There's not many things that are worse than being in a job you don't enjoy. If you have to go to work, you might as well enjoy it!
ReplyDeletegood to have you back blogging :)
ReplyDeleteGo back to your old job. Who cares what other people think or will say. You do what is right for you and your family. Don't stay in a job just because you may feel bad leaving it.
ReplyDeleteExplain this to your new boss, that you feel that your last job was a better fit for you and your life.
Life is short, and all too often we forget to JUST HAVE FUN!
ReplyDeleteMan, ditch that job and be smart enough to say you made an error in judgement!
Tracy
P.S.- glad you're back in blogland:)
Life is too short! Some people say 'go forward and not back' and others say 'There's no going back' but I say 'go back if you want to'!!! Wherever and whenever you can grab happiness in life, do it!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear about the woes of your new job. Changing jobs is always difficult. I've done it no less than 6 times in my life...and am now a stay-at-home mom. One thing a boss told me once I've used every single time I've started a new job. He said, "always give it 6 months." In 6 months, friends start being made and people start feeling less anxious about their new surroundings. I hope that if you can tough it out those 6 months, things change for the better for you.
ReplyDeleteI think you should go back to your old job, why be miserable? It doesn't sound like the new one is a good fit at all. You tried it and it is not working. Good luck, with all the changes going on in your life.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the advice to do the job you love! Glad to have you back ... your family looks great! :) Deb @ RaisingFigureSkaters.com
ReplyDeleteGO BACK!!! Life is too short to work at a job you hate. There is so much more important things than money and its so hard to find a job you love, with a great boss and co-workers, and if you had that before, then RUN back to it.

ReplyDeleteI don't see any reason not to go back- if you want to be there and your old boss wants you back, I see no reason not to say, "I tried it but it turns out that this just isn't for me." And as a native Marylander, I hope Venti & Mocha like their new state. One day I'd like to move back there.
ReplyDeleteLife is too short, be happy:)
ReplyDeleteTake this advice from someone who has been there..Go Back to Your Old Job!
ReplyDeleteI did not follow this advice but should have. Now,mwith only a few years until retirement, it is too late for me...So...Do IT!
So glad your back, just blog and tell us what's going on in your life! Hop's are fun but they take too much work! Just Enjoy life!
So important to love what you do. I hope things get better.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you my friend. You are missed!
ReplyDeleteI think you should go back to your old job too. It is worth it for your happiness.

It was nice to read your post, it felt kind of like curling up with my favorite blanket. I am sad that you are not happy with your job and since I am five weeks late reading your post, you may have aleady made a decision. I would say you need to follow your heart. You are a wonderful wife, mother, friend and person. If you are unhappy with your job, you might have a hard time finding joy in other aspects of your life. YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE! Some things work out and others don't. Please don't be hard on yourself. It sounds like your new employer and co-workers don't appreciate you for who you really are, or perhaps they haven't taken the time to get to know you. THEIR LOSS!
ReplyDeleteAgain, it was good to hear from you and I am glad your family is doing well.
